However, I got a look at that map at GenCon; and it's nice. Smile I expect a significant improvement over the old Pacific game.

That map looks good; and I'm definitely looking forward to the inclusion of the Soviet Union in the Pacific war.

soviet union will not be a playable power in pacific. it is only on the map for the global version

Fair enough. Probably including the Soviet Union in the Pacific version of the game would have interfered with game balance. In any case, the game I'm really looking forward to is the combined version of those two games! Smile cheers

You wouldn't happen to know whether the victory conditions in the new Pacific game are similar to the old ones (victory points or capture a capital); or if they've been changed to be more in line with the main sequence games (Classic, Revised, AA50)?
